God chooses those who have a personality where they don't want to be the center of attention. In that the attention is directed towards God. These people are more aware that it isn't about them, its about HIM and we are simply vessels that help to lead the Church into an encounter with God.
To further talk about this, God gave us gifts to be used for His glory! To worship Him, which is what we should do in all things that we do in our lives. How satisfying is it to pursue the desires of your heart (which are normally apart of your gifts) and while doing it know that your Heavenly Father is pleased! To know that my creator is proud of me! I don't know about you but I want to make Him proud. So whatever you do, do it out of love for Him. Do it because He has given you that gift, don't waste it, and keep yourself humble, after all He is the one who gave it to you in the first place. He is a creative creator, and we were made creative! Gahh, I love it.
Lastly, I am so thankful that God uses me! Knowing full well He doesn't even need to, but He chooses to. I am so blessed to be apart of something so big, and again to know that I serve a mighty God, who is rich in mercy, and love, and so thankful to be spared of His wrath that we see displayed in the Old Testament. I am so thankful Father!
